United Men of Winslow puts on inaugural Run for Unity Health Day 5k/1 Mile Walk On a beautiful Saturday morning at the end of July, the United Men of Winslow watched as runners and walkers of all ages conquered a scenic course though New Brooklyn County Park in Winslow Township, New Jersey. Participants from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania where pleased with how flat the course was and how well the event was put together. Refreshments where provided and awards where presented to the top participants. Later on that afternoon, residents of the community were provided with a host of events, health services, and foods of all kinds at a Music and Health Fair. The highlight of the event were the choirs, rappers, soloist, and musicians. The United Men of Winslow really enjoyed putting on this event and look forward to providing the community with the same quality service during next years event. UMW members take a stand on making sure our children receive a quality education Committed to insuring our children receive a quality education, United Men of Winslow members Mark Benjamin and Kevin O'Neill are also proactive members of the Winslow Township School Board. Mr. O'Neill serves as the boards Vice President.
The Winslow Township School District is a vibrant, growing PreK-12 school system. A wide range of programs for students; from services for the physically or developmentally disabled child to age-appropriate instruction, support and activities for the average child as well as a challenging curriculum for the high achiever.
The District provides a comprehensive curriculum that begins with a unique preschool program for four-year-olds and continues until their high school graduation. Winslow Townships "Yes We CAN" food drive gets support from UMW

What began as a project to teach civic responsibility to Winslow students quickly grew into a town wide event. More than 100 volunteers consisting of firefighters, police officers, the mayor, churches, board of education members, Winslow Township Moms Club members, UMW members and community volunteers packed the high school cafeteria on Saturday morning, March 28, 2009 to fill hundreds of boxes worth of nonperishable items and the UMW were more than elated to support the cause. Recipients of the donated food included God's Food Pantry, Sicklerville United Methodist Church and the Winslow Township Food Pantry run through the Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church in Winslow. |
